Algarve is Europe’s leading golf destination for fourth year in a row.

Algarve is repeatedly considered to be the best golfing destination in the world by magazines devoted to the sport and by international associations of specialist tour operators. The region lives up to this distinction by maintaining an unrelenting quality.

It’s a remarkable ninth title for the Portuguese golfing hotspot since the launch of the awards in 2011, as it secured the crown of Best Golf Destination in Continental Europe for the fourth year running.

The region was awarded under the Today`s Golfer Annual Travel Awards and resulted from the direct voting of thousands of readers of this publication, who once again decided to recognize the Algarve as their favourite destination when it comes to offering the best experience for the tourists who play golf.

It’s such a magical all-round package and no wonder golfers revisit time and time again”, said Today’s Golfer Courses and Travel Editor Kevin Brown.

The Algarve has become a serial winner within the golf industry in recent times. In October 2019, IAGTO (International Association for Golf Tourism Operators) elected Algarve as the best golf destination in the world for 2020 because of the recognised quality of its golf courses and the region’s hospitality. The Algarve was elected by the vote of more than 700 tour operators, specializing in this industry and coming from over 60 different countries.
