Nokia will invest 90 million euros in a new Competence Center in Portugal.
Nokia will invest 90 million euros in a new Center in Portugal, located specifically in Amadora. The company aims to create about 300 jobs in the country by the end of 2022.
In a statement, the general director of Nokia Portugal, Sérgio Catalão, explains that this is a “Global Competence Center” that “significantly strengthens the brand’s presence in Portugal, where it already has 2,000 employees. The Center will focus on “advanced business support services.”
According to the Secretary of State for Digital Transition, André de Aragão Azevedo, the 90 million investment in Portugal covers investments in infrastructure and the hiring of hundreds of professionals.
On the same occasion, the Minister of State, Economy and Digital Transition highlighted that this is a “European company” that “took the decision to invest in our country”.
“It is a good demonstration of the conditions that we have created in Portugal to attract this type of investment,” said Pedro Siza Vieira.
