According to a study revealed by EY, Portugal is in the 10th place in the ranking of the best countries for foreign investment.
The EY Attractiveness Survey Portugal 2021 reveals that 154 foreign investments projects were implemented in the Portuguese market in 2020 and were responsible for the creation of around 9,000 jobs.
37% of the surveyed said to be planning to invest in Portugal and 50% believe that their business activity in Portugal may increase.
The sector that is mainly common is still the manufacturing industry (24%), with 37 projects announced, followed by the Research and Development activities (21%), with 33 projects.
It was also revealed by the EY that 70% of the investors in Portugal were European and 30% from people from the rest of the world. In terms of countries, the United States, with 25 projects, is the one who is responsible for more investments. Immediately followed by Spain, with 23, and France, with 22.
These projects are also known as FDI projects, which means Foreign Direct Investment, and this study is an annual initiative promoted by the EY.
