In a list drawn up by Holidu, Lisbon occupies the 3rd position of the best places for remote working.
It is easy to see that remote work offers countless possibilities to those who practice it. One of them is, clearly, the fact that you can work from anywhere. Not only the possibility of working from your own home, in someone else’s house, in a cafe or on a terrace, but also the fact that you can work from… another city or country.
It should be noted that the Portuguese capital’s third place is in a world-wide list, because in the context of the European Union, Lisbon is actually the best city for “workation”.
Among the various criteria used to draw up the list are the monthly cost of a home, the number of hours of sunshine, internet speed, the number of interesting places, the cost of after-work drinks and the price of a coffee or a meal in a restaurant. The ranking analysed 147 cities in total.
“Lisbon is many things – home of the delicious pastel de nata, great cheap wine, and buzzing with energy as the sounds of Fado fill the streets. The city also offers remote workers easy access to a number of beaches just outside its parameters, perfect for an early morning or late afternoon dive with taxi’s costing just the equivalent of £0.40 per km” you can read on holidu site, as some of many reasons why Lisbon is in the top-3 of this ranking.
Porto and Faro are also on this list, as they occupied, respectively, the 27th place and the 58th place. It is also worth mentioning that Portugal has constantly been placed as one of the best countries to travel to for many reasons, as you can see in here!
