According to a recent study by the travel analytics firm, ForwardKeys and the World Travel & Tourism Council, Lisbon has shot to the top of the most booked European destinations for the first half of June 2020.

Lisbon is the European city with the highest demand for tourists, with more flight reservations. It follows Paris, Amsterdam, Athens, Rome, Madrid, Frankfurt, Vienna, Barcelona and London. The data appear in a report by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTCC) and the consultancy ForwardKeys. It refers to tickets sold between 1 and 14 June compared to the same period.

In the first half of June last year, London was the most reserved city in Europe for any arrival date. However, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and travel restrictions, the capital appears at the bottom of the top 10 reserved destinations. Meanwhile, Lisbon rised to the top of the list of the most reserved European cities during the first half of June, compared to the ninth position reached in 2019.
