Seeds of Bravery is a €20 million project funded by the European Union under the European Innovation Council (EIC) to support Ukrainian tech startups bringing them closer to the EU.

This call will provide grants up to €10 000 to purchase up to two months of business consultancy services that will support Ukrainian tech start-ups to upgrade their business model, business plan, or growth strategy.

The main objective of this initiative is to help accelerate the economic recovery of the country by providing support to Ukrainian start-ups.  Through this action, the innovation community is expected to grow and integrate within the European innovation ecosystem. The project will run for two years, and the first start-ups will receive the funding this very year, in 2023.

Who can apply?

Ukrainian innovative tech companies, (startups and scale ups) developing innovative solutions services or products. Companies must:

  1. be registered in Ukraine or be relocated from Ukraine to one of the Member States of the European Union and its Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) or Horizon Europe Associated Countries after 24.02.2022
  2. be registered in one of the Member States of the European Union and its Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) or Horizon Europe Associated Countries after 24.02.2022
  3. have at least one founder or co-founder working full time for the company
  4. have at least one founder or co-founder, or top manager (CEO, CTO, COO or equivalent key position) holding Ukrainian citizenship

To be eligible, ensure that your business model and growth strategy has  a European dimension, showing the capacity to increase the footprint of Ukrainian start-ups in the European Innovation Ecosystem and their future participation in EIC calls.

About UASEEDs

The main goal of Seeds of Bravery (UASEEDs) is to support Ukraine’s innovative tech companies (start-ups and SMEs) scene and bring it closer to the EU. Seeds of Bravery, within the next two years, will launch five different support programmes for the integration of Ukrainian tech start-ups and SMEs into the European Innovation Ecosystems:

  • Innovation Services
  • Entrepreneurship Programmes
  • Deep Tech Incubation
  • Rebuild Ukraine and
  • DeepTech ScaleUp and Acceleration.

The overall funding to be distributed during under UASEEDs to Ukrainian tech innovators is EUR 12 million. The combined financial support that one company may receive from the UASEEDs consortium cannot exceed EUR 60 000.
